The People Concern is in desperate need of hygiene and snack kits for their outreach teams as well as socks and underwear (M-3XL) for their drop-in center. Hygiene kits can include basic toiletry items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, chapstick, deodorant, etc.). Snack kits can include items that don’t need to be refrigerated (small bags of chips, cookies, beef jerky, granola bars). Items can be placed in brown paper bags or reusable grocery bags. This is a great opportunity for groups as the center needs 50 toiletry kits/250 snack kits a day. HFLA is willing to provide funding. Please reach out to for more information.

Hope for LA is excited to partner with Helping Hands Community! It’s a new nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those most vulnerable to COVID_19. They have a platform that connects at-risk community members with local volunteers for support with critical errands like grocery shopping or pharmacy visits, enabling them to stay home, safe. They’ve also built this platform with scale in mind. It can work anywhere in the country, so long as there are volunteers signed up and people requesting support through the website. If you have a loved one or know of anyone in your community that would benefit from extra support, please share this initiative with them or place a request on their behalf through the Helping Hands Community website. You can also volunteer to help deliver HERE!

Social distancing doesn’t look the same for all students in Los Angeles County. Urban Promise LA provides supplemental learning, mentorship opportunities, and spaces for youth to explore faith. They are in need of volunteers to provide supplies for classes, help students at community school, adopt a virtual classroom. Background check required and covered by HFLA! Want to get involved, email and cc: for more information!
